Last week, I was lucky enough to be an audience member for the BBC’s Question Time. I had to submit several questions in advance which would provide an interesting basis for debate, concerning topics that I was particularly interested in, such as lowering the student loan repayment threshold and the fuel crisis. Although my questions weren’t chosen as the main areas of debate, I was able to voice my opinions and concerns later in the programme and experience what Question Time really is about. Having studied Politics at A Level, I knew that Question Time is the only opportunity that the public has to scrutinise and hold the government to account so I definitely wanted to make the most of it! Overall, Question Time was both informative and engaging which fuelled further political debate and furthered my interests in a political career.
